Elden Ring: where to find the most amazing secret places (2023)

As we head into the slow days of summer gaming season, it's not exactly a surprise to learn that many people are finding themselvesReturn to the old ring🇧🇷 Finally, not only is it one of the best games of the year (possibly of all), but it's the kind of open-world game full of secret weapons, items, boss fights, and locations that you're sure to miss during the first game.

Today we're going to focus on some of those secret areas. In a game as big and deep asalter Ring, you could probably argue that any number of areas are actually secret areas. After all, everyone tends to experiment.alter Ringin slightly different ways, which means everyone will inevitably miss out on some things other players didn't know they found.

Because of this, I've decided to focus on what I think are some of themalter RingThe best secret areas in general. Some are packed with irreplaceable rewards, while others are just plain amazing. However, no trip through the Midlands is complete without stopping at one of these destinations.

Elden Ring: How to find Jarburg

Go to the Carian Study Hall and stroll along the nearby cliffs. There you will find a series of descending platforms that you can safely reach. If you keep jumping onto these platforms, you'll eventually find the town of Jarburg and a Site of Mercy nearby.

As the name suggests, this city was once home to the living jars that you will find everywhereElden RingAdventure. Although this city is but a shell of its former self, it contains some fascinating shards of lore and serves as one of the main locations for one of thealter Ringvonmost memorable missions.

Elden Ring: How to Find Chapel of Anticipation

during eachalter RingIf the player visits the Chapel of Anticipation at least once (it's the game's default starting area, after all), not all players will realize that it's actually possible to return to this location later in the game.

To do this, you must first go to Four Belfries in Liurnia of the Lakes. There you will find some portals that can be opened with Stonesword Keys. From there, go down the hill to Sitio de Gracia and turn left. The first portal you come across should lead you back to the Chapel of Anticipation. There you have another chance with the boss who probably killed you when you first encountered him.

Elden Ring: How to Find the Reverse Karian Study Hall

Here's a really weird area that's incredibly easy to miss, despite a lot of work going into its design.

To access this area you need to start the long and complicated Ranni questline. While you don't need to complete this quest line, you do need to get to the point where Ranni will give you a small statue in exchange for the Blade Fingerslayer.this guideit will help you get to that point. With this item in hand, head to the entrance of the Carian Study Hall and look for a nearby altar. Place the statue on this altar when prompted.

From there you can navigate through an inverted version of the Carian Study Hall (thinksymphony of the night).It's a visually intriguing area that soon proves surprisingly difficult to navigate properly. You may want to save these for later in the game.

Elden Ring: How to Find Blight Lake

Speaking of new playgrounds...

To get to the Lake of Rot, head to the Ainsel River Grace Main Site. If you haven't found this place yet,this guideThis will help point you in the right direction. Just keep in mind that it may take a while to get to this site of grace if you are not already on your way to the upper parts of the Ainsel River area.

After reaching Grace's location, head to the nearby ruins of the Uhl Palace. There you have to go through the front door protected by two huge statues. Continue downstream to a fork in the road. Turn right there and follow the river path.

Eventually you will reach Nokstella, the Eternal City. Pass Sitio de Gracia and follow the path that follows the river. Powerful enemies patrol this area, so you'll need to move carefully if you don't want to get caught in a deadly loop. A little further downstream you will see a small set of stairs leading to a tomb-like structure on your left. Go up these stairs and use the elevator that you will find in this structure.

At the end of the elevator shaft, run straight through the only door nearby. Head southwest through a small cave and keep running through this claustrophobic area full of enemies. You will soon find an area filled with red fog where your fight will take you to another building which has another elevator inside. Take this elevator down and you will find the Lake of Rot.

Congratulations! You've just encountered one of the biggest toxic swamps in Soulsborne history, as well as one of the most irritating boss fights in the game. While this area holds some awesome rewards, you'll need all of the Crimson Rot's enchantments and cleaning items you can find if you want any chance of surviving this hellhole. Much luck!

Elden Ring How to find underground abandoned lands?

This is one of those weird places inalter RingThis is easy to find and easy to miss depending on your path in the game to the point where you can access it.

To find this area, go to the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace in Leyndell, Royal Capital. From there, go down the nearby stairs and turn left when you reach the end. You should see some rooftops nearby on the left. Jump over the rooftops and drop into the area below. Go forward a bit and you will see a hole in your fight. Jump up or down this pit and you are in the underground avoidance grounds.

this zoneas hell- as the name should already give an indication of what to expect. This place is dark, miserable and full of dangers. It also contains some additional secrets. So it's a good idea to endure the pain and try to explore every corner of this nightmarish place.

Elden Ring: How to Find Radagon Statue

Go to the Erdtree Shrine of Lost Grace in Leyndell, Royal Capital. From there, head down the curved staircase until you reach an elevator. At the end of this elevator you'll find some enemies and a giant statue of Radagon.

While the statue is visually stunning and certainly well hidden, it's also the centerpiece of one of thealter RingThe strangest riddles. To solve the riddle statue you need to find the Prayer Book of the Golden Order Principia nearby and give it to Corhyn or Miriel. In this way you can learn the incantation of the law of regression. This enchantment requires a Holy Seal and a whopping 37 Intelligence to cast, so you may need to respect your character to use it. When you're ready, head back to the statue and cast your new enchantment in front of it. If done correctly, the statue should disappear, revealing a hidden message that the lore hunters are still working on deciphering.

Elden Ring: How to Find Depths of the Forsaken/Cathedral of the Forsaken

After accessing the underground Shunning Grounds, go to the Roadside Grace Underground Site. From there, go straight over the nearby bridge. After crossing the bridge, look for a pipe with a large hole in it. Jump over the pipe and go down the hole.

Go straight through the pipe until you see a path on the left. Walk down this path and turn right. Drop through the hole in this path and keep going until you reach a ladder. Go down the stairs and you will find an elevator. At the end of this elevator is a Grace Site and the entrance to Forsaken Depths.

If you manage to navigate the crooked and often illogical paths of the Forgotten Depths (this guideshould help), you will eventually fight Mohg the Omen. More importantly, you have a chance to acquire the Fingerprint Stone Shield - a powerful defensive item that's perfect for some Force-based builds.

Elden Ring: How to Find an Isolated Tower

While not necessarily a "secret" spot in the traditional sense, this off-the-beaten-path destination is one of those slightly obscure places.alter RingMust-visit areas that can easily get lost.

First, although you can get to this area very early in the game, you can't "do" anything until then.You defeated Malenia🇧🇷 More importantly, how you get to the Lone Tower depends in part on whether or not you've already defeated Maliketh.

If you've already defeated Maliketh, visit the Merchant's Shack website for free. There is a tower on a hill to the southeast. Open the chest you find in this tower and you will be transported to a new location (the top of the fortified mansion in Leyndell). Near the nearby Sitio de Gracia there is a set of stairs that lead to a sleeping golem. Take care of the golem as you wish and eventually you will find a teleporter. This teleporter will take you to the Isolated Tower.

If you haven't defeated Maliketh yet, you can also go to the Fortified Manor, First Floor Site of Grace to finally reach the Secluded Tower entrance. Go through the main entrance hall of the Fortified Manor Site of Grace and take the entrance to the left of the main gate to the area. From there, turn left into the courtyard area and head straight for the large building in front of you. Inside is an elevator that will take you to the Sitio de Gracia near the aforementioned sleeping giant.

In any case, in the isolated tower, activate the Great Rune that you received by defeating Malenia. In other words, you cannot enter the tower until you acquire this Greater Rune.

To find this weird little area, go to the Grand Elevator in the Dectus Site of Grace. From there, head south through the nearby mountain pass. You will soon come across a small town full of very angry villagers who will be more than happy to attack you.

Essentiallyalter RingThe City of Fools (Gymkatafans know), this place is full of murderous characters who are clearly out of their minds. While you won't find much in or around the village other than some XP, a few items, and maybe a few little secrets, this is one of those destinations worth bothering to see if you really want to explore some of it.alter RingThe wildest optional areas. Anyone who explores every corner of this area will be able to find out what happened in the village...

Elden Ring: How to Find Sellia's Hideout

To find this area, go to the Igreja da Peste do Sitio de Gracia. From there, head north up the nearby hill until you reach a wooden archway. There is a small cemetery nearby. In this cemetery, look for the large tombstone. Behind her is an illusory wall that leads to the Sellia Hideaway.

This cave is a fantastic place to collect extra Forge Stones, and it's also where you'll find Crystal Torrent and Crystal Spear spells. More importantly, this is where you will eventually need to go when attempting to complete the Sellen quest line, as this is where Master Lusat is hiding.

Elden Ring: How to Find Fringefolk Hero's Cave

after completedalter RingAs a must-try opening, you can properly explore the game's open world by starting at a location known simply as the Stranded Graveyard. Mostalter RingPlayers probably assume that returning to this area doesn't make much sense. However, this area actually contains a secret dungeon that is certainly worth returning to once you are strong enough.

Once you've got two Stonesword Keys and a few levels under your belt, head back to the Stranded Graveyard. There you will find a fog door that can be opened with the above keys. Behind this wall is a dangerous dungeon patrolled by a death car and some very strong enemies. However, here you will also find one of thebest talismans in the game: Favor of Erdtree.

Elden Ring: How to Find Sage Cave

Go to Grace's abandoned coffin near Caria Manor. From there, head northeast to cross the nearby lake. There is a cave in the northern part of the lake. Although this cave looks like a cul-de-sac, this cul-de-sac is actually an illusory wall. Hit the wall and continue to the Sage's Cave dungeon area.

This deadly dungeon is filled with illusory walls, secret passages and lots of loot. If you make it to the end, you'll be fighting an annoying invisible boss that you'll have to constantly look for the splashes they leave in the nearby puddle of water. Defeat the boss and you'll unlock awesome gear perfect for ranged combatants, assassins, or anyone who likes to rely on stealth every now and then.

Elden Ring: How to Find Dominula, Windmill Village

Once you find the Path of Iniquity Side Road Grace location, go there and follow the nearby path to the southeast. If the path leads you east, follow this path. Soon you will find the scariest place inalter Ring.

This city is essentially the city ofSummer solsticeit's increased to about 11. It's full of dancing and dodgy villagers who will attack you if you interrupt the ceremony. Their "very happy" celebrations and false joy in the city they live in irritates them in this way. Make your way through the city and you'll soon find yourself in a tough battle against the Apostle Godskin, who will reward youa mighty new sword.
