The vast array of weapons at your disposal in Elden Ring means you have countless options when creating a build. In terms of build, the bleed build is one of the strongest yet. These are builds based on the indentation or indentation mechanism similar to previous FROMSoftware titles.

What makes it even more powerful than previous bleed iterations, though, is that the bleed stacks up incredibly fast in this game. With the right build, combined with the best bleed weapons, you can bleed out your enemies in as little as 1-3 hits, making it a really reliable status effect for both PVE and PVP scenarios.

Keep in mind that a LOT of enemies are prone to bleed. There are also many weapons that can cause blood loss, either by giving them blood affinity or because they have an innate passive effect on blood loss.

However, in this article we will be talking about the top 5 weapons for a bleed-focused build. I know there are a lot of strong competitors out there, but I personally think these weapons are among the most reliable in both PvE and PvP situations.

Surprisingly, one of the best bleed weapons in the game can be acquired quite early. If you choose Samurai as your starting class, you'll even be able to have this weapon from the start. Better yet, you can get another specimen by going to the deathtouched catacombs near Stormhill and looting it from a corpse.

Despite being an early game weapon, with the right investment and Ashes of War it can take you to late game and in some scenarios even late game. It is such a versatile weapon that you can use it on any build and still be viable. However, it shines when used as a weapon in a bleed-focused build.

Put the seppuku war ashes on him so he loses more blood. Meanwhile, the choice of affinity comes down to personal preference. If you just want to focus on bleed stacking, you can apply bleed affinity so it also scales with Arcane, allowing you to bleed in as little as 1-2 hits.

However, if you want to focus on higher damage with some side bleed, you can apply the Acuity affinity to make it scale with Dexterity. When Seppuku is active, you can bleed on 3-4 hits, which isn't too bad.

Uchigatana's stats:

4. The Curved Sword of the Scavenger

Uchigatana is certainly a great bleeding weapon, but I personally prefer Scavenger's Curved Sword as a move when in Power Stance. In case you're wondering, Power Strikes basically use two weapons of the same class, a mechanic that existed in Dark Souls 2. This opens up a completely different moveset than simply using this weapon with two hands.

What makes the scavenger's curved sword better than the Uchigatana is that you can reliably move towards your target with just a sustained L1/LB attack. This attack animation consists of attacking your target twice with both swords. Since you are wielding two swords at once, you are effectively hitting your target FOUR times in a single attack.

This means that you can easily attack your target while dealing significant damage to them. Combined with blood affinity and seppuku, this makes bleeding processing much easier. Personally though, I prefer a hidden affinity here so I can benefit from the higher AR while still applying bleeds at a reasonable rate.

Scavenger Curved Sword Stats:

What distinguishes the Scavenger curved blade:

3. Eleonora's arctic sword

Patch 1.03 fixes Arcane scaling bugs on various weapons, including Eleonora's personal sword. Finally, you can now benefit from the AR boost this weapon offers, provided you've made the right investment in Arcane.

To be fair, the weapon scales very poorly in terms of Strength, Dexterity, and Arcanity. In fact, even +10 full damage is nothing special. Where the gun shines, however, is the ashes of war.

The weapon's ability, Bloodblade Dance, allows you to move around the battlefield and kill groups of enemies relatively quickly. You can even follow up with another attack and dodge it shortly after.

If it wasn't for Ash of War, I would have placed other better bleeding weapons in this place, like the Nagakiba or the blood affinity Godskin Peeler. However, the ashes of the war are more than enough to make up for it. I was actually able to kill players with this ability, especially those who were trying to trade hits during the animation.

In PvE, he can easily stagger opponents and even some bosses as long as you manage to land the hits. The only problem is that the animation is a bit clunky and you're stuck for the entire game. It offers a bit of hyper armor, which is nice.

Eleonora's Polar Sword Stats:

2. Mohgwyn's Holy Spear

Mohgwyn's Holy Spear is my personal favorite for a very simple reason: Ashes of War is insanely good. It's certainly not as crazy as the number one weapon on this list, but its abilities are great for crushing groups of enemies and ambush squads alike.

The weapon's spear, Bloodboon Ritual, involves stabbing the spear into the air to create an AOE pulse that deals damage over a wide area and even induces light bleeding. You can tap the Ash of War hotkey up to three times, with the last sting dealing the most total damage.

It not only works great against enemies and players, but also against bosses. With the right investment, you can take down the bosses in the game pretty quickly, as long as they aren't immune to bleeds.

This is actually my weapon of choice for invasions, although Rivers of Blood do exist and are currently the meta weapon for most Bleed builds. With his crazy Ashes of War, I was able to easily win about 90% of my invasions.

However, it is not designed for 1v1 duels, as the lengthy setup phases when running Ashes of War leave you completely exposed to enemy attacks and staggers. However, since invasions are all about ganking and using the environment to your advantage, it's almost fair to say that it's GG whenever the host and its ghost are within range of the weapon's ability.

Mohgwyn's Holy Spear Stats:

• Blood loss happens quite quickly when using Ash of War.

1. Rivers of blood

We can't really talk about a bleed build without mentioning Rivers of Blood. With the incorrect arcane scaling fix, Rivers of Blood was no longer overlooked and instead became a meta for PvP and PvE scenarios. In fact, during invasions and even 1v1 duels, you can almost always see someone wielding this weapon.

There are some good reasons for this. First, as a katana, it has a fairly fast moveset that allows you to block and debuff your target with just a few hits. Second, arcane scaling means that you can increase the overall bleed stack simply by focusing on increasing your arcane level.

The icing on the cake, however, is the Ashes of War, called the Corpse Piler, which features a series of cuts that are fairly easy to apply and can bleed. What makes it even more awesome is the fact that Ash of War has pretty good range. This allows you to easily hit multiple cone-shaped targets in front of you.

You can also press the key twice in succession to add even more bars. This fast yet incredibly powerful combination is the reason many gamers can play the game content with ease. In fact, it's possibly the fastest way to bleed while also dealing insane amounts of damage.

The only caveat is that the beautiful can be obtained later in the game, so you will have to wait a bit to get your hands on this monster. Unless, of course, you have a friend who can lend it to you. In that case, you can get it pretty early as a shipwreck boss.

Where Rivers of Blood stands out:

I know there are many other powerful weapons that increase bleeding. However, these top 5 are my personal picks as they are incredibly strong and overwhelming, especially the top 3 on this list.

Indentation builds are usually overloaded, so FROMSoftware will most likely remove them in future patches. But from now on, you better have fun with these bloody weapons that will take you through the entire game except for the final boss. Corrupted: Is immune to bleeding.
