Blue and white together create a fresh, Mediterranean feel, especially with bright green leaves in the mix. You can add extra warmth with earthy tones, like the terracotta vases shown here. When choosing your shades of blue, keep in mind the different shades of the oceans, from deep blue to turquoise.

You can add some accents of lighter blue, but make sure you have the darker shades as well; if you choose a pastel shade instead of white, you'll miss out on the cool vibe of the holidays.
2. Mixed cakes

Pastel colors have long been associated with weddings. To give the look a contemporary touch -without losing romanticism- combine a diverse color palette in light tones. Pink, yellow, blue, purple, green: putting them all together is more contemporary than combining one or two colors.

Metallic accents add extra crunch. Don't limit yourself to the plates – the cake can also go metallic and add value to the overall look.
3. Peach and turquoise

There is something so playful and elegant about this color combination. If you want to increase the contrast, you can swap the peach for a coral, but we think the softer shade goes really well with the turquoise. Add gold accents for glamour.

We're being very specific with the tones here, and for good reason. This is a delicate and elegant combination, but it relies on color precision to keep it cool to the touch. For example, a dove gray would lower the eye, while a lighter green would overwhelm the other colors.

You can associate a tropical color scheme with juicy colors such as fuchsia and bright orange. However, this combination proves that you can achieve the same island paradise effect with softer tones. Of course, green has to be fresh, strong and reminiscent of the rainforest, but an apricot butter yellow has a lot of pizzazz and is still elegant.
